About the Performing Arts Series
Mission Statement
The Performing Arts Series supports the teaching mission of Appalachian State University by presenting a diverse array of music, dance and theatre events designed to enrich the cultural landscape of the campus and surrounding region. By creating memorable performance experiences and related educational and outreach activities, the series promotes the power and excitement of the live performance experience; provides a "window on the world" through the artistry of nationally and internationally renowned artists and showcases some of the finest artists of our campus community and our region.
"A cornerstone of any great university is a strong and thriving visiting artist series featuring performers who take us on a voyage of discovery—broadening our understanding, shaping our perspective, and "opening windows" on a changing world. The Performing Arts Series supports the teaching mission of Appalachian State University by presenting performances that bring classroom learning to life for students, while contributing to the cultural landscape of our region by presenting strong and diverse arts programming that is so essential to the quality of life in any community.
"Great performances are available to students, faculty, staff, and community members through the Performing Arts Series at a fraction of the ticket prices charged in other locations—making it one of the best deals found anywhere! We look forward to sharing the magic and power of the performing arts with you this season."
