"...an original, made-in-Canada, full-length story ballet that combines wit, intelligence, theatricality and fine dancing in one very entertaining package." - Arts Today

Burned into the public psyche over the past one hundred years, the name Dracula evokes dread and horror - but, most of all, fascination. Dracula has become a legend by serving as the subject of the classic novel by Bram Stoker, countless movies, and now the ballet choreographed by Mark Godden. Dracula is Godden's first full-length ballet. Known internationally for his choreography, Godden was born in the United States but now resides in Canada. He has created original works for Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Les Grands Ballet Canadiens de Montréal, Ballet Florida, North Carolina Dance Theater and many others.

Versatility, technical excellence and a captivating style are the trademarks of Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, qualities that have garnered both critical and audience acclaim. These qualities keep the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, now in its 67th year, in demand as it presents more than 150 performances every season. Founded in 1939 by Gweneth Lloyd and Betty Farrally, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet holds the double distinction of being Canada's premier ballet company and the longest continuously operating ballet company in North America. Now in its 66th season, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet continues to keep audiences enthralled from the opening number to the curtain call.
