"The Brothers ably juggle objects and jokes." - The Boston Globe

"Soars with theatrical invention!" - edgeBoston

"The irresistible 'Ks' handle an audience as cleverly as the cleavers, clubs, knives and other imaginable and unimaginable objects they juggle." - New York Times

The Flying Karamazov Brothers will dazzle audience members of all ages as they sing, dance and juggle their way through a mid-life crisis that becomes a dazzling vaudevillian romp through the stages of life. Bring your children, bring your grandmother, and expect the unexpected with looney musical numbers and Dimitri the Champ, who faces the challenge of juggling any three items the audience brings to the stage!

LIFE: A Guide for the Perplexed is a series of stories designed to help one survive the modern world, interpreted by four "brothers" who take their slapstick comedy very seriously. Featuring music played on both traditional and non-traditional instruments, the performance includes silly dances, world class juggling, and most importantly, plenty of audience participation. The highlight of the performance is a piece called "The Gamble," which features a character named Dmitri the Champ, whose challenge is to juggle any three objects that the audience provides. If he wins, he gets a standing ovation - if he loses, he receives a pie in the face.

The Flying Karamazovs' newest and perhaps most ambitious show ever, LIFE is a skill-filled romp through the stages of life. The show debuted in February 2004, a collaboration with Director and Karamazov alum Michael Preston, New York choreographer Doug Elkins and numerous designers, composers and musicians. The performance is a fun-filled evening of wonder for the entire family - with parables presented through the prism of Karamazovian eyes - so you'll never know what to expect next!

As described by TheatreSeattle.com, LIFE "remind[s] us ... that all too often, serious-minded adults become so bogged down in the day-to-day concerns of living and dying that we overlook the simple joy of experiencing each moment as it occurs and discovering whatever pleasure it contains. Even if we occasionally 'drop the pin,' the relative insignificance of a tiny failure pales in comparison to the inestimable miracle of being alive to even make the attempt."

The Flying Karamazov Brothers have shared the stage with such greats as Frank Sinatra, the Grateful Dead, Dolly Parton, The Who, Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, the Blues Brothers, Kenny Rogers, and with Peter Schickele at Carnegie Hall. They have also performed with numerous symphony orchestras around the country, including the Boston Pops and National Symphony.
