"The [trio] has ... the ability to fuse elements from different cultures into a graceful and floating whole." - Stuart Broomer, Amazon.com

The legendary Pat Metheny will be joined by celebrated jazz artists Christian McBride, Antonio Sánchez, and recently invited distinguished guest artist David Sánchez, to create this one-of-a-kind quartet.

One of the top ten Grammy Award winners of all time, Pat Metheny is recognized as one of today's most prolific and influential guitarists and composers, as well as an accomplished music educator. Metheny reinvented the jazz-guitar sound for a new generation of players, and continues to re-define the genre, utilizing new technology and constantly working to evolve the improvisational and sonic potential of the guitar. It is one thing to attain popularity as a musician, but it is another to receive the kind of acclaim that Metheny and his various groups have garnered from critics and peers. Over the years, Metheny has won countless polls as "Best Jazz Guitarist" and many awards, including three gold records for (Still Life) Talking, Letter from Home, and Secret Story. He has also won sixteen Grammy Awards spread out over a variety of different categories including Best Rock Instrumental, Best Contemporary Jazz Recording, Best Jazz Instrumental Solo, and Best Instrumental Composition. The Pat Metheny Group won an unprecedented seven consecutive Grammys for seven consecutive albums.

Christian McBride, named by Rolling Stone magazine as the "Hot Jazz Artist" in the early 90s, has become one of the most acclaimed acoustic and electric bassists to emerge from the jazz world. Known for his musical diversity, he trained at Juilliard, has experimented with hip-hop, funk, and pop, and can also hold his own with the stalwarts from the more traditional jazz world. Antonio Sánchez (drums) has a background and training in classical piano. He has performed on several Grammy Award-nominated recordings, and continues to remain active in the local Boston music scene. David Sánchez (saxophone) began playing percussion and drums at age 8 before migrating to tenor saxophone four years later, and later taking up soprano and alto saxophones, flute, and clarinet. While attending Rutgers, Sánchez quickly became a member of New York City's swirling jazz scene, joining Dizzy Gillespie's United Nations Orchestra in 1991.
