"Audiences love MOMIX's combination of acrobatics and transformations." - Village Voice
Know internationally for presenting work of exceptional inventiveness and physical beauty, MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists led by Moses Pendleton, who has been one of America's most innovative and widely performed choreographers and directors for over 30 years. For over two decades, MOMIX has been celebrated for its ability to conjure up a world of surrealistic images using props, light, shadow, humor and the human body.
In addition to stage performances worldwide, the company has frequently worked on special projects in film and television. MOMIX has made five Italian RAI television features broadcast to 55 countries (including the USSR and China) and was featured on PBS's Dance in America series. MOMIX is featured in one of the first IMAX films in 3-D, Imagine, which premiered in 1993. Based in Washington, Connecticut, the company has performed throughout North America, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Australia.
The November 19 "Best of MOMIX" performance is a compilation of the company's most popular works.
This presentation is an American Masterpieces project, supported by the Southern Arts Federation and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art, and in partnership with the North Carolina Arts Council.
