Acclaimed for its exuberant dancers and fast-moving, and sometimes humorous, dances that showcase the incredible athletic capacity of its performers, The Parsons Dance Company elevates the world of modern dance and holds as its mission to make modern dance accessible to the widest possible audience. World-renowned for their virtuosity and energy, the Parsons dancers have thrilled audiences on six continents with well over 1500 performances and countless educational and community outreach activities since the company's inception in 1987.

The Parsons Dance Company is comprised of nine full-time dancers and maintains a repertory of over 70 works (20 with commissioned scores) by David Parsons, the company's Artistic Director. A primary focus of the company is to allow Parsons to create as many new works as possible and commission original musical scores and theatrical designs from leading artists, while also introducing new dances created by members of the company.

Among the works the The Parsons Dance Company will be performing is the celebrated and stunning "Caught." One of David Parsons' signature pieces, "Caught" utilizes a strobe light on a completely dark stage to create the illusion of flight as a single dancer performs 90 jumps. The audience never sees the dancer land, and each moment captured appears almost like a snapshot, frozen in time.

The company has performed at many prestigious arts festivals, appearing at the Spoleto festivals in Charleston, Italy, and Melbourne, and for six consecutive seasons at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts. Additionally, The Parsons Dance Company has been presented by many of the most distinguished theaters in the world, including Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Maison de la Danse in Lyon, Rio de Janeiro's Teatro Municipal, and Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
