Star of the Sea Studios presents “Dragons in the Mountain”

Tickets for this show can only be purchased by calling 1-800-841-ARTS or 828-262-4046 or visiting the box office at Valborg Theatre: 480 Howard Street, Boone, NC 28608

Residency work involving a diverse network of campus and community groups begins on October 20.

This original theater work produced by Star of the Sea Studios utilizes exquisite puppets, masks, poetry and song, video, photography and live music to weave story and place in a mythical Appalachian landscape. The story follows a worn down, burnt out environmental activist as he embarks on a visionary journey to (re-) connect with a sustainable energy of the soul. His quest through a mythic Appalachian landscape is marked by encounters with ancestral spirits, wild beasts, celestial companions, wizards, trolls, gnarly crones, elemental forces and of course… DRAGONS!

Presented in collaboration with Appalachian State University’s Sustainability Council, the Department of Theatre & Dance, and the Hayes School of Music.
